In This series “Layers of Meaning” I seek to experience the cities and towns of the world. Looking for their unique spirit, their beat, their environment, their people, and the way daily life is at present. DRIPROCK ARCH  is a Gothic-detailed bridge that stands over a pedestrian walk, which used to be a bridle path. Made from New Brunswick sandstone and red brick.

The pedestrian walk underneath connects Heckscher Playground to Wollman Rink. Originally, the arch traversed a bridle path that was destroyed in the 1930s after the playground expanded.

There are 31 arches and bridges in the Park, plus 14 bridges that carry Park traffic over the four transverse roads, allowing City traffic to cross the Park
